How often do we look at someone who's further ahead and suddenly everything we've accomplished feels insignificant? We compare our progress to someone else's, focus on what we lack, and in an instant, the energy that once fueled us disappears.
I know this feeling firsthand.
I remember when I was just starting out, doing a seminar in Atlanta, Georgia, with 125 people in the room (today, I have the privilege of speaking to audiences of up to 15,000 in person).
I was on fire, giving everything I had. I could see transformations happening right in front of me. I left that room so fulfilled, so grateful.
That night, I ran to catch Bruce Springsteen's last few songs at a nearby stadium. But the moment I stepped inside... everything changed.
Looking at 15,000 people on their feet, completely electrified, one thought hit me: "Man... I thought I was making an impact. This guy is on another level."
In that moment, I went from euphoric to defeated.
Nothing in my body had changedâI had the same physical energy, the same passion, the same missionâbut in an instant, my state shifted completely, and my energy plummeted.
